Our resident Barn Owl

Do you ever get the feeling that you are being watched…

I was stacking some wood in the barn and something made me look up at the rafters – a lovely surprise to see the Barn Owl. He/she has also been spotted sitting on Dart’s balcony at night.

We also have a visiting Kestrel, plus several buzzards and Tawny Owls who patrol our valley. If you stay with us you’ll hear them at night as you drift off to sleep.

We have just installed some nest boxes through the Barn Owl Trust, and they seem hopeful that we might get some chicks this year, whilst also giving it a place to hide when we need to access the wood pile!
