The Larder Shop

Treat yourselves to a break from the cooking and let us do the catering while you’re glamping at Brownscombe.  According to our guests’ feedback “Kate’s cooking is highly recommended” “absolutely scrummy casserole, breakfast and bbq!” and “the morning croissants are yum!”.

You can preorder any of the hampers or extras when you book and you’ll be sent the menu a week before your stay in case you wanted to order an arrival meal or breakfast.

You’ll also be able to order during your stay using the order form you’ll find in the Larder. Orders placed before 7 pm each day will be available to collect from the Barn the following morning from 8 am for breakfast, or from 6.30pm for supper. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or intolerances.

The shop stocks camping essentials, local produce and a small range of wine, beer and cider as well as a range of locally made, homeware and accessories which you might find hard to resist.

LARDER MENU

BEEF POTJIE (pronounced Poike), 2 adults £16.50 or 4 adults £30.00

Potjie is an Afrikaaner campfire dish of beef and chunky vegetable stew traditionally cooked for 4-5 hours in a large cast iron pot. Served warm with rice for you to cook on your stove.

CAMPFIRE CASSOULET, Serves 2 adults £15.00 or 4 adults £26.00

Brownscombe home reared sausages and lardons in a red wine and tomato sauce with cannellini beans. Accompanied by a warm demi baguette (1 between 2 people) – Can also be made with veggie sausages on request.

BROWNSCOMBE SAUSAGE PASTA, 2 adults £15.00 or 4 adults £26.00

Brownscombe home reared sausage meat, with tomato and penne pasta, topped with shavings of parmesan – total favourite for our kids and their friends. Veggie version available on request. Served with pasta for you to cook on your stove.

MEDITERRANEAN LAMB with roasted vegetable couscous 2/3 adults £30.00

Local butterflied half leg of lamb marinaded for 4 hours in lemon juice, crushed garlic, paprika and oil ready for you to cook for 10-13 minutes each side on your BBQ accompanied with prepared vegetables for you to cook and mix with couscous.

BROWNSCOMBE FAMILY BBQ BASKET, £20.00 for 4 people

Home reared Brownscombe pork; 4 pork & apple burgers, 8 pork sausages, 2 whole corn on the cobs (halved) and 4 warm demi baguettes. Ready to cook on your BBQ.

Home reared sausages (2), a pork and apple burger and corn on the cob. Ready to cook on your BBQ.

Halloumi kebabs, £4.00 for 2  – halloumi/pepper/mushroom/onion kebab

EPIC BREAKFAST HAMPER, £6.00 per person

CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST

Freshly cooked each morning and ready to collect from the larder from 8 am. Just select how many you would like of the following:

  • Pain au chocolat £2.00 each
  • Brownscombe eggs (duck or chicken) £0.35 each or 6 for £2.00
