Brownscombe Cottage
Brownscombe Cottage is situated in the original farm yard adjacent to owners Kate and Andrew’s house. A private and cosy home from home, surrounded by pretty garden and with a secluded star gazing nook at the back, this is the perfect place to kick back and relax.
COSY AND WARM
The beautiful oak frame was built by Carpenter Oak, and with underfloor heating supplied by our biomass boiler, the cottage is toasty and warm in the colder months while designed to allow cool breezes to flow through from the balcony and garden in the summer.
Our cottage is perfect for adults who want to enjoy our facilities with the comfort of four solid walls, and the children will love all that Brownscombe has to offer (including the all important farmer’s rounds in the morning).
It’s also a great option for grandparents who would love to join the family holiday but can’t be persuaded to try glamping!
Packed with character it is an ideal base to explore South Devon or to just switch off for a few days and enjoy the bird song from the wood behind the cottage.
PRIVATE STAR GAZING
We have set up a “dark sky” nook behind the house complete with fire pit and Adirondack chairs, as it is an ideal spot to star gaze and look out for the Tawny owls who have a nest in the wood. A strategically placed piggy peep hole in the hedge also means you can watch the (very cute) piglets from the sitting room window.

This cosy cottage suits a couple or a small family of four, with all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay.

- Master bedroom with kingsize bed, double wardrobe, dressing table and bench, Roberts radio with bluetooth
- Kids bedroom with full size single sleigh bed and a full size truckle bed underneath that can be set up as a bed too
- 1 bathroom with walk in power shower and bath
- Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and oven, freezer and fridge, toaster, kettle and a full range of cooking utensils
- Washing machine, tumble dryer and airing cupboard
- Dining area with 4 chairs
- Sitting room with log burner, supply of fire wood, TV and plenty of books to read
- Study area with fast fibre to premises WIFI, desk and chair
Outside:
- Patio with table and chairs, Weber BBQ and pots with herbs for cooking
- Star gazing nook, blankets, two Adirondack chairs and a fire pit with supply of firewood
- Parking for 2 cars with EVC available (£15 initial charge then £6 per top up)
A natural wonderland
In this gorgeous part of the South Devon countryside there’s an abundance of wildlife, Look out for wild deer, rabbits, foxes, badgers and many species of wild bird, including the rare cirl bunting. You never know, you just might spot the even rarer greater horseshoe bat and our resident Tawny and Barn owls.
Delicious local produce
You can order breakfast and barbecue hampers from our little onsite shop. Stock up on basics or try some amazing local produce. With a day’s notice we can also provide one-pot meals. Return from a long day out to find supper waiting for you.
Discover Devon
There is so much beautiful countryside to explore and Brownscombe provides the perfect base, with wonderful long walks starting right on your doorstep and the coast just a short drive away. There’s also a gorgeous pub in the local village, just a 20 minute walk.
